After weeks of preparation and, above all, anticipation, the time had finally come last week and we set off for Berlin. Neonyt, the world's largest trade fair for fashion, sustainability and innovation, took place there from January 14th to 16th, 2020, where OGNX could of course not be missed as an exhibitor.
Taking the challenges of sustainable fashion into account and providing positive impulses for action – this is what Neonyt has stood for since its beginnings over ten years ago. From January 14th to 16th, 2020, retailers, industry, science, politics and stakeholders from the sustainable fashion and textile industry met to present their products, network and work on common strategies for action in various workshops and lectures.
OGNX also met the strict admission criteria of the Neonyt experts and was able to join the list of internationally renowned exhibitors as a “significantly sustainable” label. So let's go to Berlin: With you in your luggage: current goods as well as highlights of the upcoming autumn-winter collection.
In addition to our own stand, where we were able to network with new retailers and international producers, we made our products available for photo shoots in the Prepeek area and organized 3 exclusive yoga classes, led by Steph Jaksch, one of Berlin's most renowned yoga teachers.
Numerous lectures and discussions on the topic of sustainability provided interesting input. Topics in the panel discussions ranged from the use of CO2 as a raw material to the global effects of climate change on the textile industry. The idea of collectivism, which is already taken up in Neonyt's slogan, ran like a common thread through all conversations and events.
“Success in implementing the goals for sustainable development depends largely on the actions and cooperation of all those involved. The fashion industry must open up and enter into an interdisciplinary dialogue.” -Thimo Schwenz Feier, Neonyt Show Director.
For us, visiting Neonyt was not only an important statement, but also a good opportunity to meet like-minded people and advance our vision of a collaborative, equal fashion industry.
